COUNTDOWN TO SUNDAY 22, DECEMBER 2024
MUSIC FEST SENT LISI
Twenty St. Lucian singers were selected for the Youth Star 2024 Semi Finals which took place on Saturday 9, November at the Vide Bouteille Cultural Club from 2pm.
The top eleven competitors will head to the Finals at the Sunday 22, December Music Fest Sent Lisi showcase of Youth talent in Vieux Fort.
In preparing the semi finalists, coaching was provided on singing styles, stage presence, voice control, diction, microphone use, creativity, timing, appearance and professionalism.
The YOUTH STAR COMPETITION is a pillar of MUSIC FEST 2024,and the winner dubbed YOUTH STAR 2024 will walk away with the Cash Prize of $15,000 and more.
The 2012 Youth Star, Kerril Victor "was making waves in Taiwan with his unique blend of soulful Caribbean melodies infused with Taiwanese influences. Having moved to Asia a decade ago, the singer has captivated audiences with his innovative sound that bridges his Caribbean roots and Asian experiences. Victor's early musical foundation was steeped in church and gospel music, a powerful influence that still echoes through his work".
Meanwhile the first Youth Star (2009) Keen "The Mecca" Cotter along with Sherwin "Dupes" Brice recently kicked off the British leg of their "The Paradise Life" tour at the High Commission of St. Lucia in London.

OBJECTIVES OF MUSIC FEST Sent Lisi
AN ANNUAL FAMILY EVENT that aims to:

Showcase, promote and develop the musical and related talents of aspiring St. Lucian Artistes focusing on the Youth.

Utilize the talents, contacts and influences of St. Lucian Artistes to inspire visitors to the "Helen of the West" a world-class destination offering exciting experiences.

Provide promotional opportunities for organizations and businesses to market their services and products, exhibit their corporate social responsibilities and connect with Artistes. the Youth and Families and develop brand loyalty.

Provide an opportunity for artistes, community, stakeholders, NGO's and the business sector to collaborate with Youth and develop viable linkages while reaching out to the society with positive messages.

Showcase performances in the areas of Lucian Folk Music, Gospel, Dennery Segment, Dancehall, Reggae, Kaiso, Soca, Hip Hop, R&B, Emerging Genres, Dancing and DJ Mixing.
YOUTH STAR CONTEST
Ten Artistes under the age of 30 are selected to compete for the title of Youth Star 2024.
MUSIC FEST SENT LISI 2024 will take place on SUNDAY, DECEMBER 22 2024, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Philip Marcellin Grounds, Vieux-Fort.
